We left Sydney at 10am on a full Delta 777 across the Pacific and landed in LAX 13:15 later. We didn't have a lot of free time for the transit at LAX, and the continually improving immigration was quick to navigate as they gave us a "fast pass".
The flight from LAX to Atlanta dept on time at 9:05 for 4:30 flight.
We had a short transit at Atlanta for the final leg to Washington DC/Dulles airport and arrive to a warm Dulles Int Airport 1:15 later. In total we travelled about 23 hrs
The car hire was quick and we drove down the freeways towards Fairfax, Virginia until we quick easily found the Comfort Inn.
We walked across the road and found a sports bar - Buffalo Wild Wings, and enjoyed some chicken and salad (US$41 inc tip)
